Assignment 5

Create an interactive program, 2D or 3D, that uses texturing and sound.

Come up with a plan for the program (description of the visuals and behavior - no code is necessary), and e-mail it to me for approval by Thursday, 4 December. I will provide comments, and possibly some additional requirements. Part of your grade will depend on how well you accomplish what you propose. Feel free to send me the plan sooner, so you have more time to work on it.

Some basic requirements:

• Write some generic code for loading and using textures - e.g. a texture class, or a function (or functions) that will load any image and make it into a texture, with optional parameters for things like mipmapping.
• Use multiple textures
• Some of the sound should be "connected" to objects in some way - e.g. an engine sound that varies its volume based on speed, feedback sound when an object is selected, effects played when things collide.

Note: since you will most likely be sending me several files (code + texture images + sounds), send them as a zip or compressed tar file.
