DMS 417/516: Suggested Show&Tell Topics

Each student must give a 20-30 minute, in-class presentation on a practical subject related to the intellectual property. This is meant to be both an illustration of a course topic, and something useful to your fellow students.

A presentation on subject "foo" should clearly demonstrate how to use "foo", and discuss how it relates to the course topics.

Note that some of the following topics could potentially involve illegal activities. No-one is going to be required to break the law for a grade, but you are expected to be reasonably aware of the legal ramifications of your presentation.

Using a file-sharing service - Napster, Kazaa, Exeem, BitTorrent, etc (including how to provide new content)
iTunes and iPods (including DRM features)
getting rights to use music in a film/video/etc (ASCAP, BMI)
commercial stock film footage suppliers (Pathe, Prelinger, etc)
commercial stock photography libraries (Corbis, etc)
